**This dress is one-of-a-kind. Size M/L (measurements below). Made from a vintage lace tablecloth.**
This dress is made from a vintage Quaker Lace Co. tablecloth. The fabric is on the lighter end of medium weight (still fairly heavy for lace) with a beautiful drape. I believe the content to be cotton or perhaps a cotton/rayon blend. Either way, it's an absolutely gorgeous fabric - molding to the contours of the body, without being clingy.
The color is "fresh cream" (a medium shade of cream with subtle yellow undertones) in an absolutely stunning leafy lace pattern. Scalloped edging with picot trim at hem & straps. Made to last, with French seams & reinforced stitching. Arm holes are bound with 100% silk fabric.
Easy-to-wear shape flatters a variety of body types. Please note, this dress is cut very low at the arm holes & is made from lace. It is unlined & doesn't have pockets. I can envision lots of fabulous layering options for this one - over a vintage slip for an elegant, dressed up look - with tights & a t-shirt for a more casual vibe - or even over a swimsuit as an absolutely divine cover-up.
I recommend hand washing & line drying this piece. Can be ironed on lowest setting if necessary.
This piece is made from a vintage tablecloth. Minor imperfections are to be expected & are part of the charm. Anything major will be noted.
This isn't a flaw exactly, but I don't love the way I made the straps for this one. It's probably one of those things that I notice way more than anyone else, but I would do it differently in the future. So, I'm going to offer this dress at a reduced price. The outside edge (scalloped side) of the straps is very sturdy, but the inside (closer to the neck) is quite lacy & therefore somewhat stretchy. I don't like this discrepancy between the two edges of the straps, if that makes sense...you can see what I'm talking about in the detail photos above. I tried the dress on & the straps function just fine & are perfectly sturdy - it's just an aesthetic thing.
Also, I cut this using my size M pattern, however, because of the slight stretchiness of the lace, it measures more like a L. It's not stretchy like a knit, but it does have quite a bit of give to it. Please see below for exact garment measurements.
Garment Measurements: Length = 41" (shoulder to shortest part of hem), Chest = 44", Waist = 48", Hips = 52".
