The Solstice Dress & Top Pattern is based on a design that I created in 2017 for Folkstead, my tiny, handmade clothing company. Since then, it has consistently been my most popular style. Over the years, I have made hundreds of these pieces, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback about them. I have been asked many times if I would ever consider selling my pattern and I am thrilled to finally be able to share it with all of you. I hope you will enjoy making and wearing your own Solstice garments as much as I do!
The free-flowing shape makes this piece comfortable and easy to wear. It is designed to fit like a pinafore, with open sides and wide straps. I personally love this style and wear one of these dresses almost every day. It can be paired with a pretty blouse for
a more dressed up look, layered over a long-sleeved shirt and tights in the winter, or thrown on over a bralette for the world’s easiest summertime outfit. It is perfect for frolicking in the woods, hanging out with friends, splashing in the creek, running errands, chasing after small children - whatever your day brings, the Solstice Dress & Top are up to the job!
This pattern includes two different dress lengths as well as a top. There are pattern pieces & instructions for two different construction methods - standard seams (beginner friendly) & French seams (intermediate) - so you can choose which one best suits your needs.
