Vintage Lace Tablecloth Top ~ Size S
Vintage Lace Tablecloth Top ~ Size S
**This top is one-of-a-kind. Size S (measurements below). Made from a vintage lace tablecloth.**
This top is made from a vintage Quaker Lace Co. tablecloth. The fabric is medium weight (heavy for lace) with a subtle sheen & a beautiful drape. I believe the content to be a cotton/rayon blend, however, it could have a small percentage of polyester in it also. The company started adding poly to their lace in the 1960's or 70's, but in such a small amount that it can be hard to tell just by feel. Either way, it's an absolutely gorgeous fabric - molding to the contours of the body, without being clingy. The color is fresh cream (medium ivory). Scalloped edging with picot trim. I left the original tablecloth tag at them hem (though it can be removed if you prefer).
Made to last, with French seams & reinforced stitching. Arm holes are bound with 100% silk fabric.
Easy-to-wear shape flatters a variety of body types. Please note, this top is cut very low at the arm holes & is made from lace. It is unlined.
I recommend hand washing & line drying this piece but it can be machine washed if preferred (cold water, delicate cycle only). Can be ironed on lowest setting if necessary.
This piece is made from a vintage tablecloth. Minor imperfections are to be expected & are part of the charm. Anything major will be noted.
This piece has a few issues and is priced to reflect this. There are a couple broken threads in the lace. These are single threads & don't impact the stability of the fabric. I thought I remembered there being two of these spots, but I could only find one when I was taking photos (shown in second to last picture). There is also a slub in the fabric. Slub isn't really the right word but it's the closest description I can come up with. These are really common in this type of tablecloth. They don't seem to be imperfections, per se, which is why I liken them to slubs in linen. Not a flaw, just a variation. I only mention them if they are really visible. This top has one on the front (shown in last photo).
This top is a size S. The fit is very forgiving and somewhat adjustable, but please see below for exact garment measurements.
